Further development of existing English language skills in speaking, listening comprehension, writing and reading. Extension of vocabulary and knowledge of collocations.
Grammar will only be extended and not revised from scratch. Sound knowledge of FCE grammar is a prerequisite to this course. For detailed information about FCE grammar structures, please use the link below.Students are expected to spend between 3 and 4 hours per week on their homework and home-study. The course will be supported by our internet platform "Moodle". Discussions on a wide range of topics. Analysis and application of advanced grammar. Discovery and practice of various genres of English writing. Exam tips. Additionally, there will be a focus on the Cambridge examination question formats and strategies, and inspection and practice of past examination papers. A mock exam will be held on a Saturday during the course. In the first semester, pre-tests are held, which help the candidates to decide whether or not to enrol for the Cambridge exam.
Preparation for the Cambridge Advanced English examination. This exam corresponds to level C1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
The minimum requirement is the previous attainment of Cambridge First Certificate or an equivalent high level of English, both spoken and written.
This course is intended primarily for hard-working, motivated students wishing to take the CAE examination. Students who do not wish to take the examination are also welcome, providing they are prepared to meet the high demands of this examination course.
