Beschreibung des Angebots
The discussions will be sparked by short inputs (articles, videos or audio files) from iconic people who „made a dent in the universe“ (Steve Jobs), who will show you the „hidden side of everything“ (Steven Levitt/Stephen Dubner) and many more. These inputs will stimulate exciting and controversial discussions. The focus of this course will be on oral communication. The course participants will learn how to introduce a new point of view, how to support an argument, how to dispute and to interact. They will enlarge their vocabulary and improve their listening and reading skills. Proposals for controversial topics from course participants are welcome.
Students will practise their communication skills by actively taking part in interesting and lively discussions and debates about topics of general interest. They will benefit not only languagewise but also gain insight into different approaches on how to explain the world we live in and learn more about modern life.
Course participants have already followed several language courses and are now ready to put their skills into practice. In order to take part in discussions and debates, an English level of C1 or preferably C2 is required. (A certificate is not a prerequisite.)
